EURO-LUPUS PROJECT

OBJECTIVES

1. To determine the incidence and characteristics of the different clinical manifestations at the onset of the disease and during the follow-up.

2. To analyse the biological and immunological features of these patients and the relationship with their clinical manifestations in order to clearly define different subsets of the disease.

3. To determine the natural history, severity and response to treatment of these SLE subsets.

4. To evaluate the morbidity of the different SLE subsets (including the complications induced by the different treatment regimens of this condition).

5. To establish the mortality rate and the main causes of death in the European SLE population.
